10 EVALUATION OF YOUR BLOGGING EXPERIENCE

Hi there guys. So this is the last topic of the blog for the English class, it’s all about the conclusion of this experience. I think this kind of exercise is very useful to improve our redaction abilities. In the same way, it’s very important to learning new words. I.E., in my case I always tried to find new words for my posts.  But, the blogging experience was only a tool to get language abilities? I think no way! Some topics were funny. In the other hand some topics were very frustrating, I have a lot of problem to write about An expert that I admire I had no idea about the person that I admire!

There are so many topics to talk about so I don’t think it’s going to be a problem find new topic for the next year blogging experience, but I personally liked the topic about remember old times like the “autobiography” or My Best Friend”.

Being honest I don’t think I will write again in this blog, but, if the next year I have the chance to get into the English IV course and there were a new blogging experience I will use this url: saint-dwich school !

A Piece of News

Yesterday I watched on TV a piece of new, I saw it in TVN. Well, that wasn't a new exactly, It was a kind of "television new report". The report was about drug addict's childrens living in Talca. They're abandoned by his parents, so They were left in a SENAME center but today They are living in streets before their escape from the center. That's not all, because many of that childrens are drugs addicts. They sniff carburator sniff cleaner everyday while they walk across the bus terminal or the abandoned storehouse where they live. There is about 30 childrens living with two couples of alcoholic adults.

When I saw the new I inmediately remembered so many case about abandoned, drugs addicts and delinquent childrens from the past, like the "Cisarro" case. I belive that the communication media make a mistake when they went viral this kind of case because they influence the childrens behaviour and the efficacy of the SENAME politics when they pressured childrens in that way. It's a shame that the state couldn't take measure for stop this things.

That's not mean the SENAME hasn't problems in their politics. I think this kind of case is important because show how urgent is the improvement of SENAME today.

My Best Friend

I've met a lot of people, but my BFF was the only person who I actually talk a lot since I met her. Her name is Loreto, I met her thirteen years ago in a Role Playing Game Chat, when I was nine years old. She's from La Serena. She's very important to me, and when We were child we just talked all day in MSN. Their fathers were out of money when She was eleven years old so she couldn't connect to the MSN for one and half year. When she goes away I throught I will never gonna see her again. But then one day she just connected again and was like She never gone.

She's actually living in Santiago, next to my apartment (she's my neighbour!). She's graduate in Plastic's Art. It's funny because when she arrived in Santiago, she decided to study Art in campus JGM. I didn't know where that thing was. Then I discovered that my school was in the same campus of her school.

I like her because it's like we have a mind connection. We say the same things at the same time all the time, we do the same gesture. We fight everyday, and then in a time We are laughting. I'm only child but it's like she was my sister since forever. And my parents think that too: My mother said that she is her adopted child haha.

My best memory with Loreto is when I met in real life for first time. That was awesome because I talked with her like five years before we met out of chat. We met in "Portal Lyon", I think that was one of the best day of my life.

She makes this draw for me. We are dancing (we always dance)

An expert that I admire

I don't really "admire" someone like a fan, but when I found out that Brazil had the first one Free Software system for the Public Management I got surprised, because I have tried to be an user of free plataforms (open software & open hardware) since I was ten years old. So I investigate about that fact and I discovered the people who was the "pioneer" in free software solutions for the Goverments: "Marcos Mazoni".

Marcos Mazoni was one of the first public officials in Brazil who started to foster the use of free software in all areas. His work began in the Private Sector like an activist but it expanded to other areas.

His archivments are:
  • Development of the "Expresso Live", a software which offer e-mail, datebook, workflow for the Paraná Local Goverment.
  • VoIP Calls System for the same Goverment
  • Paraná Digital, an initiative for the digital inclusion of many Public School.
  • And many others!

I like Marcos Mazoni because I belive that knowledge sharing is the key for the future. Free Software is one of many expressions of knowledge sharing. When you sell an idea you don't share any knowledge about it, by the hand, you want to protect your assets. But when you want to share your knowledge, in this case, the knowledge about programs, the first thing you do is to build a program without protections, so anybody can understand and modify that program. On the way, people don’t have to invent the program twice and, if one person have an idea, he can use our program and make it better.

My Favorite Band or Singer

Hi there. This post is about my favorite band. Lately, I'm being interested about music, so in my free time, I'm usually searching for bands. I like all genres of music, so I don't have a "favorite band". But everytime I have to answer that question I talk about Mauricio Redolés or The Wood Brothers. This is an English course so I'm going to talk about The Wood Brothers.

The Wood Brothers are a freshly Americana Band. They are a trio composed by the vocal/guitar guy, a bassit and a guy who plays... a "Shuitar". The Shuitar is a kind of Acoustic Guitar-Tambourine-Bass-Bongo Frankenstein instrument. Althought Shuitar has strings, this instrument is a Percussion one. It is the coolest instrument that I know.

Their style is Americana. Americana is the music which combines a lot of American's root, like Country, Blues, Rock, Bluegrass, etc. I like that, cause it is interesting how they can "mix up" that kind of music to create this new one. By the hand, they sound nice, and fresh. Even they have a cover for a Michael Jackson song.

I like Wood Brothers for many reasons. But the most important (and dumb) reason is because I like the southern accent. If I must give an accent to my English that will be the southern one (or the afroamerican one!) Maybe because I watched many cowboy movies in my childhood.

My Favorite Movie

I love to watch documentary and "short films" but I'm not good enough for watching movies so it is very difficulty for me to pick a favorite one. On the other hand I always remember a teacher who suggested me a movie: "The guitar".

The Guitar is a movie starring by Saffron Burrows (Known as "Andromache" in the film "Troy") She plays the role of  Melody Wilder, a woman who was diagnosed with a terminal ilness (cancer I guess). Because that Her boyfriend just broke up their relationship at the same time She was fired from her job. The story takes places in a loft (...a big one) where the girl decides to spend her last days (Two months). She lives off her credits cards, that's funny because she thought she never had to pay the money so she bought many things. She never got out of her room so in the movie she had two lovers, a lesbian one (the pizza delivery girl haha) and another delivery man (an old guy) who brings her the things she buys.

The movie is named "The guitar" because Melody Wilder had always wished for a guitar (since her childhood). After spending money and time in all her whims, she remembers that dream. She bought the guitar of her dreams and then, she learned to play guitar with a videotape class. Finally the doctor calls her  on the telephone (maybe she visited him... I don't remeber haha) and says to her that she won't die because she isn't sick. So she got seized by the Bank.

My favorite part is the end. She's playing guitar in a concert. The guitar and her dreams was the only thing that remains in the end and She archived the hapiness just with those things.

My Favorite Piece of Technology

¡Hello, World!

This is a difficult topic, because I like technology so much, it is a part of my life. But if I have to pick a favourite one I guess the winner is "the computer". My relatives (at least my male ones) love the computer: My grandpa is a computer programmer, my favourite Uncle is a computer engineer and my Dad attempt to get that grade but he failed. So, when I was a child they push me to that world. My first computer was a gift of my parents when I was two years old (two & half). It was a kind of "auto-gift" for the family, but they put it in my room so I treated that machine like it was mine. My Dad was working in the morning so, I must learn how to deal with it without his help.

I remember when I tried to install "Prehistorik" (a pre-historical game for DOS), I was alone in home and I didn't know how to install it... so I picked the phone, I called my Grandpa and said to him: "I can't install the game of the caveman, tell me how can I do that" My Grandpa just laughed and said something like he could go to my home and install that game for me in my PC but I was so obsessed to play it "right then" so my Grandpa gave me install instructions on the phone, and that was hard work because DOS doesn't have a visual interface.

I use the PC all day, everyday. If I'm not using the PC, it is on anyway, downloading something or processing some video. I use the PC for many activities:, for: "Chatting, Playing games, Design, Programming, Reading News, etc.". I don't know what my life would be like if I didn't know the computer. I think it's a very important piece of my life and my way to see the things. It was a period in my life when I didn't have many friends, because there in my neighbourhood the guys were mostly old people, older than me at least. So the Computer was a kind of "window" to see the world, to meet other people and learn so many things. It was the link between my family and have been the "panacea" for my questions (most of them ha ha).
